SUMMARY:Bicycle protest action at Volkel, the military base with US nuclear bombs
DESCRIPTION:Tensions in the world are increasing. Major countries are seriously preparing for nuclear rearmament. The US wants to replace its nuclear weapons in the Netherlands. With the F-35, a new bomb should be placed at Volkel Air Base next year, as a replacement for the F-16. The same will also happen in Belgium, Germany, Italy and Turkey.\nWe must prevent that. A new arms race is not the answer. Another way out is possible: one of dialogue and disarmament rather than escalation. We do not want nuclear weapons in the Netherlands and no nuclear weapons in Europe.\nOn Saturday 25 September, the SP, PAX, WILPF and Niet in Mijn Naam, among others, are organizing a demonstration against nuclear weapons at Volkel Air Base.
